Our speaker for the weekend was Christi Sherman who is on staff with InterVarsity in Washington, DC. Christi inspired us with her story of how she went through many struggles and eventually found peace through Jesus. She challenged us all to think about how Jesus calls us to service and how important that is. She also talked about the importance of relationships and accepting differences. She challenged us to become a team that works together for God's kingdom. Our faithful Praise Band was with us to lead the music! We so appreciate their willingness to travel and take days off from work! During the retreat we gave everyone a chance to express their faith through art, drama, music or a service project. Our service project was a great hit. We built a Gaga court to leave as a gift for Mt. Zion. Of course we had the fun of using it (and seeing some of the leaders get sore muscles in the process!). We want to give big thanks to everyone who helped make Winter Weekend 2011 so memorable and meaningful! Thanks to all who prayed for us. The Holy Spirit was moving among us to unite us, uphold us, encourage us, comfort us, protect us and bring us joy! Thanks to Mt. Zion staff for being there for us!
